Join us for a Peer Learning Forum exploring ways in which organisations can support their suppliers to adopt responsible business practices.

This is a virtual event.

Audience

Business in the Community (BITC) members. Our peer learning forums are now open to all members who have advisory in their membership package. This particular event targets people managers, line managers, senior leaders and those with accountability for driving inclusion and wellbeing.

Aims and objectives of the event

Organisations are increasingly required to engage with suppliers to collect social and environmental performance data, and to ensure suppliers are meeting certain standards. We know that it is not enough simply to develop a procurement strategy and expect all suppliers to adapt their practices overnight. Organisations need to consider ways in which they can support suppliers to meet the requirements, and to understand the barriers suppliers may face. By taking this collaborative approach, organisations face a better chance of meeting their own responsible business ambitions, and creating an even greater positive impact through their supply chain.

In this Peer Learning Forum, BITC will share tried and tested approaches which demonstrate effective ways of collaborating with suppliers including:

  • How to engage suppliers to discuss the importance of responsible procurement;
  • How to engage suppliers to understand challenges;
  • Capturing insights and responding to these in approach to supplier engagement;
  • Monitoring ongoing performance and adherence to a responsible procurement policy;
  • Ways to provide support for suppliers in meeting requirements.
