BITC statement on the introduction of the Draft Equality Bill

In The King’s Speech today, it was announced that the Draft Equality Bill will be introduced. Commenting on the news, Sandra Kerr CBE, Race Director at Business in the Community, said:

“After years of campaigning, working closely with business leaders, I am delighted that the government will introduce the Draft Equality Bill and as part of that, ethnicity pay gap reporting will become mandatory. Identifying pay gaps and addressing disparities is crucial to eliminating workplace inequalities once and for all. I believe that this is the right step, and I eagerly anticipate the progress of this significant legislation through Parliament.”
