Clare Moore joins Business in the Community’s (BITC) Yorkshire and Humber Leadership Board from Headlam Group Plc, a market leading flooring distributor, where she has the role of Chief People and Sustainability Officer. Clare has worked across several industries including manufacturing, financial services, retail, childcare, funeralcare, utilities and distribution and always looks for practical ways to influence the adoption of inclusion, support local communities and help the workforce to work sustainably.
Headlam Group has around 2,200 colleagues and operates in the Netherlands, France but predominantly in the UK where approximately 1,800 reside. With sites across the country the company is looking for ways to work more closely with all of the BITC Regional Boards. The company currently sits on the East Midlands Board as well.
Headlam Group Plc has a site in Leeds with 170 colleagues, Gildersome with 120 colleagues and a site in Bradford with around 75 colleagues. Headlam completed a community needs analysis in Leeds this year and are really keen to get to know groups in the area much better hence joining the Board. Headlam colleagues typically work in warehousing, transport, sales, customer support, trade counters or in support functions. They also have machinists and manufacturing roles in its Bradford site.
