Anthony PateyJohns is the Head of Safety and Environment at London North Eastern Railway (LNER) based in York, UK. LNER operate intercity rail services between London and Aberdeen and Inverness on the East Coast Mainline.
Anthony has worked in rail for over 16 years with extensive experience in Rail Safety Management Systems and a keen interest in Environment and Energy Management Systems and their role in the wider sustainability agenda at LNER and beyond. Anthony’s role involves working with the rail industry’s Rail Safety Standards Board (RSSB) and industry stakeholder groups like the Rail Delivery Group.
Anthony joined the Business in the Community (BITC) Yorkshire and Humber Leadership Board as he believes that rail plays a critical role in our communities, by linking them together and growing new communities, but also in the provision of a greener alternative over plane or car travel. Being a member of the BITC Leadership Board places Anthony well to ensure rail is central to a greener future and realise the opportunities it has to embed responsible business in our communities.
