Julie Schofield is Associate Director of Business Partnerships at the University of East Anglia. In her role she is responsible for the strategic development of external relationships to maximise the impact of UEA’s research and innovation expertise. Julie also oversees the university’s Consultancy Service and Student Enterprise and Graduate start-up service. She has more than 15 years of experience in Higher Education, including former Head of Careers – Business Engagement. Previous positions include Director of Business Development at Business Link Norfolk.
Julie is a member of the Norwich Town Deal Board, Norwich Business Improvement District Board, the Norfolk and Suffolk Innovation Advisory Board and a co-founder of Sync the City, an annual 54-hour hackathon that takes place in the city. Julie has also been a member of the Norwich University Technical College Board of Governors for 10 years.
She says: “Engaging with other committed colleagues from a wide range of organisations within the city to harness our individual expertise, resource, and capacity to work together with communities to affect real change is inspiring. The challenges are deeply engrained within communities and it’s going to take the combined effort of local government, public, private and third sectors working with communities to make lasting change.”
