Malcolm Gomersall currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer at Grant Thornton, with oversight of its firm’s strategy and operations. He’s been with Grant Thornton since 2001 and is immensely proud of how he’s seen the firm evolve and grow since then.
In his role as CEO, his focus is largely on continuing to deliver high-quality work that adds value for its clients, creating an inclusive culture that attracts and retains top talent and driving even greater levels of innovation in how they work with one another and with clients.
Prior to taking on the role of CEO, he served as Chief Operating Officer for four years and worked closely with its leadership to design and embed the foundations for its current growth.
He previously led its London audit and tax business and its people and client experience function. As an audit partner, Malcolm ensured its industry group and specialist services teams delivered to the highest level. He has a particular focus on the automotive, technology and service sectors.
He also led work on social mobility and LGBTQIA+ in its firm and sat on the Access Accountancy Patron Group – a collaboration of firms and professional bodies – that provides those from lower socio-economic backgrounds access to the accountancy profession.
