BITC statement on the introduction of the Employment Rights Bill
Commenting on the Employment Rights Bill that was announced today, Mary Macleod, Chief Executive of Business in the Community, said:
“Business in the Community believes that giving employees some further protection and flexibility in how they work, be it their working hours or location, will not only benefit employees but also the employer. Many employers are already working to set the standard to ensure their employees have the opportunity to work flexibly if and when needed, providing enhanced parental leave and voluntarily reporting their ethnicity pay gaps.
“Our network of businesses across the UK has proven that by providing greater support to employees, we can create a more inclusive, productive and happier workforce, and can help employers attract and retain important talent, resulting in better performance and economic outcomes.”
