An entrepreneur, investor and CEO, David took his first company Just Eat from a start-up created ‘in a basement’ to Europe’s largest technology IPO in a decade. He was named by Glassdoor as one of the UK’s Top 5 CEOs in successive years and is credited with several major acquisitions including the takeover of two sector rivals. He is a digital leader, bringing new technology to bear to disrupt traditional industries. 

David’s collaborative leadership style and willingness to speak up for consumers created a strong working culture at Just Eat and was noted by the UK government when it appointed David as their Cost of Living Business Tsar
in 2022.

Lee Downes is a Business Development Director for Sodexo UK, where he plays a key role in driving growth and increasing awareness of Sodexo’s ability to enhance workplace environments, fostering better experiences for employees and organisations alike.

With a professional background spanning consulting, culture shaping, and organisational alignment, Lee has developed extensive expertise in building strong relationships with business leaders who are committed to driving positive change within their organisations. Lee champions a people-first mindset and enjoys delivering impactful solutions that align business goals with employee wellbeing.

Lee was also the founder of a social enterprise dedicated to supporting fathers’ mental health. This initiative stems from his deep passion for mental health and wellbeing, a cause that remains central to both his professional and personal endeavours. His commitment to this space is one of the key reasons he has joined the Business in the Community (BITC) East of England Leadership Board.

By bringing his experience in employee wellbeing, workplace culture, and mental health advocacy, Lee is keen to contribute to BITC’s missions within the region.

Kelly Bradley is the Senior Social Value Manager at the Houses of Parliament Restoration and Renewal Programme (R&R). Kelly works across the industry on developing social value in the construction and heritage sectors and is passionate about the positive impact businesses can make to improve society. Kelly looks at ways to work together to create a fairer economy and a more sustainable future for everyone. With over 25 years experience leading infrastructure projects on economic and social benefits locally and nationally, Kelly looks at innovative solutions to reduce barriers. This is by developing relations and partnerships and putting communities needs and well-being at the heart of the project life cycle from planning all the way through to decommissioning, handover/in use. Prior to joining R&R, Kelly worked on Tideway supporting the development of their legacy and managing several award-winning charity partnerships

Kelly has joined Business in the Community’s London Leadership Board as she firmly believes corporates can provide a much greater impact to communities and drive change at a local level when working collectively together.

His team overseas the business school’s marketing, communications, partnership, alumni and events functions. A member of the Senior Management team, Daniel works closely with the business school’s leadership in delivering its mission of life changing business, creating value for students, organisations and wider society.  

King’s Business School is committed to creating positive impact and developing the responsible leaders of tomorrow – ambitions shared by the whole Business in the Community team and the London Leadership Board. Prior to working at King’s, Dan spent five years at the London Business School where he is an alumni of the Emerging Leaders Programme. Prior to working in business schools, Daniel’s career took in the music, travel and cultural industries.

Jack Raven grew up near Norwich, Norfolk prior to studying chemistry at the University of Sheffield. Upon graduation, Jack sought roles in R&D in the chemistry/biochemistry industry which were linked to his university degree. In the pursuit of a more commercially focussed role, Jack joined EDF Energy in 2017, initially in the customers business, prior to moving across to the financing team in nuclear development at Sizewell C in 2019.

Jack has since worked in various business/commercial/community focussed roles, all centred in sustainability and social value. Jack joined the Business in the Community East of England Leadership Board at the end of 2024 replacing a colleague from the same department at Sizewell C. Through the Board, Jack is seeking to develop Sizewell C further as a responsible business, create opportunities for networking, develop best practice and create collaboration opportunities to deliver greater benefits to the community around Sizewell C.

Stuart McKellar is a lawyer and part of Aviva’s in-house legal team.  He has been in the team since 2001, starting as a paralegal and then qualifying as a solicitor in 2011.  His work has covered a range of different areas of financial services law and practice and most recently has focussed on data privacy as Aviva’s UK Data Protection Officer.  

As well as his legal work Stuart trained as a coach and is a member of Aviva’s internal coaching community. Stuart is part of the site leadership team for Aviva in York and enthusiastically involved in a range of community work including school governor roles and supporting the York Place.  The work of Business in the Community and the Board is important in helping to create a fairer world and improve lives and Stuart is proud to be part of the team delivering this work.  

Stuart lives in York with his young family and spends most of his spare time cooking and eating nice food and trying to spend time outside.

Jenn Barnett leads Inclusion, Diversity and Sustainability for the sixth largest professional services firm; Grant Thornton. She has deep expertise in psychological culture change and is an executive coaching and leadership specialist.

At Grant Thornton, Jenn has designed a leading edge and distinctive I&D and Sustainability strategy, which has transformed the culture to be inclusive, progressing diverse talent, and creating the systems that enable inclusion, diversity and a strong community and environmental focus. Prior to this role, Jenn was People Experience Director, where she shaped the employee value proposition and influenced senior leaders to change behavior to improve the people experience.

Prior to Grant Thornton, she worked in senior roles with BAE Systems and BAA at Heathrow, where she led the transformation of people behaviors to improve customer service in preparation for the Olympic Games in 2012. She was recently featured in the Cranfield School of Management 100 Women to Watch 2024 and was selected by her peers as an Inspirational D&I Leader in 2021 to 2024. Jenn is a trustee for GT Foundation, Access Accountancy (a social mobility charity) and Lord’s Taverners ( a charity supporting disabled children).

Nadia Dabbagh-Hobrow is a partner at KPMG and is the Head of Pensions Assurance in the UK, she is based in KPMG’s Birmingham office. Nadia is a qualified Chartered Certified Accountant and has worked at KPMG for over 27 years.

Nadia provides audit and assurance services to a number of large pension schemes in the UK and regularly lectures on industry specific training courses and internal training courses.

Outside of audited entity work Nadia leads KPMG’s Midlands Inclusion and Diversity team. In this role she oversees all aspects of Inclusion and Diversity in the region leading the networks, steering committee and capability groups and working alongside the Talent and CSR teams.

An award-winning engagement professional, Ronda Gowland-Pryde has worked in arts, culture, community engagement and higher education since 2000. Currently the Senior Civic, Community and Public Engagement Manager, Ronda works across departments and stakeholders in support of the University of Southampton’s Civic ambitions and to enable, connect and inspire high quality, mutually beneficial engagement.

In Ronda’s previous roles which includes, Head of Education and Research at John Hansard Gallery (2000-2018) Ronda developed, coordinated and led on a number of local, regional and national programmes that bring people together for a common purpose in creative, innovative ways. Ronda has a PhD from the Southampton School of Education, PGCE in Post Compulsory Education and Training and MA in Arts Management.

Co-founding longer term programmes such as In-Residence with the Community, Voluntary Sector, Ronda has a particular interest in new ways of collaborating and joins the Business in the Community, South Eeast Leadership Board to further develop innovative and creative ways of supporting the priorities and needs of communities with business.

In her spare time, Ronda volunteers as a proud trustee of arts, culture and education organisations. Ronda is married and enjoys comedy, reading and researching.

Nick Payne joined the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) as Chief Financial Officer in November 2022, and his portfolio includes estates, facilities and fleet management, finance and levy collection, commercial and procurement, data, digital and technology, and performance and portfolio management.

Nick also has corporate responsibility for business continuity, environment, social and governance, and health and safety management.

Nick’s priorities are to create an environment for CITB to succeed, and to drive and demonstrate our value and impact for the industry.

Previously, Nick was appointed as the NIO’s first Chief Operating Officer in February 2022, and, in September 2022, Nick led the ceremonial and tributes to Her Late Majesty the Queen, and the Proclamation of His Majesty the King, in Northern Ireland.

Prior to that, Nick has worked in a variety of finance and commercial roles across government, including in defence, business and legal departments, in policing, and the private sector, including in retail, energy, telecoms and transport.

Nick is passionate about leading in responsible businesses and is an advocate for the environment, ED&I, and social value. Joining the East of England Leadership Board has enabled Nick personally and CITB corporately to make a difference in the region jointly and severally with other partner organisations on the Board.
