Circular Economy
Business in the Community (BITC) is accelerating the transition to a circular economy and improving resource productivity.
According to the Ellen MacArthur Foundation a circular economy aims to redefine growth, focusing on positive society-wide benefits. It entails gradually decoupling economic activity from the consumption of finite resources, and designing waste out of the system. Underpinned by a transition to renewable energy sources, the circular model builds economic, natural, and social capital.
As part of BITC’s work on the circular economy and resource productivity our Circular Office Initiative brings businesses together to learn, share, and try new ideas to bring the circular economy to life in their offices. It is about changing how we design, use and operate to eliminate waste and create more efficient, resilient spaces. These spaces will contribute to the long term sustainability of businesses and the wider economy and the positive wellbeing of occupants.
