Social Mobility
Social mobility refers to the connection between a person’s occupation and income and those of their parents. Strong links indicate lower social mobility, while weaker links indicate greater social mobility.
At Business in the Community, we encourage and assist our members in addressing social mobility. Various interventions that focus on inclusive recruitment, education, and work progression and support are available.
Our approach is supported by a focus on engaging with communities that have lower social mobility, as well as promoting leadership, and an inclusive workplace culture, and using data to drive continuous improvement.
